My Story
I was 13 when I was christened ‘Bison’ for the first time...
The nickname “Bison” was given to me at age 13 for my “rampaging runs” on the rugby field; years later, friends and family still use it. I was a sporty kid, enjoying rugby, football, golf, and various racket sports.
Lifestyle Overhaul!
Four years at university resulted in a Degree in Leisure Management, but also a sedentary lifestyle, poor diet and a body that tipped the scales at over 22 stone. After experiencing health problems, I took that defining look in the mirror, realized something was very wrong, and went on a mission. By taking up running, jujitsu, and football again and developing a much better diet, I gradually dropped to 14 stone.
After years of working in an office and getting pretty burnt out, I decided a career change was required. I retrained as a personal trainer and established Bison Personal Fitness. After qualifying I continued to study and progress, eventually becoming a specialist trainer in Obesity and Diabetes Management. In doing so, I fulfilled a goal to help others navigate the exact journey I made in my twenties.

Despite all this training, I continued my studies and subsequently qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist. Combining my knowledge of fitness training with my growing skills as a therapist, I was able to help a number of clients recover from injury, coming back to health quickly and strongly.
Throughout my career, I’ve been lucky enough to be mentored by fantastic people—Kev Taylor for Personal Training and Kate Sheridan for Massage Therapy. I am hugely indebted to them both for their support and input, without which, I wouldn’t have succeeded. Today, I utilize all the knowledge and experience I have gathered to support you, my clients, on your journey toward better health and fitness.
